This is the final I sent off to Cable. He liked the preliminary I sent him so hopefully this one will be a go. Changed some of the positioning and added a few more elements to make it more authentic.

Album Cover; WIP COVER PT 2

this is the second installment for the album cover im working on which is a recreation (painstakingly recreated, might i add) for a dj who shall remain nameless till it drops :D ive hand pixel drawn this entire thing, right down to "mario" but hes not really mario etc. i might even take the moustache off him to make him look more like the dj. someone asked me why i didnt just alter a scanned image of the orignal...there are a few reasons for that:

1-the quality that most scans are done for things like covers are shit and since it is a scan of essentially cardboard, you get nasty artifacts and grain and uglyness.

2-doing this whole thing at 300 dpi means the dj gets high quality image for repro. again, the scans usually are horrible.

3-its more fun this way!

im debating whether or not to spoof the nintendo logo as well. this is the original: http://www.mobygames.com/game/super-mario-bros/cover-art/gameCoverId,104935/
so you can see mine is a bit different. this has been alot of fun to do and i cant wait to do the others in the installment. the dj's name is in there i just left it out until he proofs it.

album WIP elements

since I haven't posted anything as of late, here is the cover I am working on for a dj who will remain nameless until the release for this drops. I am just getting the elements in and yes, i MADE the bricks, both sets. the upper bricks were definitely much easier to do as opposed to the lower. the lower bricks took the better part of an hour to figure out the most time efficient way to do pixel art. i've never worked with pixel art before, so it was a welcome challenge. im just struggling with getting the positioning and scale right. this is alot of fun though! sorry for the wack watermark all over it, but i worked hard on the bricks and i don't want some buster to come and try to steal them.
